OnePlus 12R - As Seen In The First Impression

The introduction of the OnePlus 12R took place at the Smooth Beyond Belief event in New Delhi, India, alongside its flagship counterpart, the OnePlus 12. While not boasting the exact top-tier specifications as the larger model, the OnePlus 12R stands as a formidable device. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, a flagship chip from the previous year, it shares a resemblance with the OnePlus 11R. Having spent some time with the new OnePlus 12R, here are my initial impressions.

OnePlus 12R Specifications

Feature Details
Processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Display 6.78-inch ProXDR AMOLED
Camera 50MP Primary, 8MP Ultra-wide, 2MP Macro
Storage 8GB RAM + 128GB / 16GB RAM + 256GB
Battery 5,500mAh, 100W Fast Charging
Connectivity Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, IR Blaster
Operating System Android 14-based OxygenOS 14.0

Design

Out of the box, the OnePlus 12R provides a comfortable grip, thanks to its slightly curved back and front. Featuring a metal frame and slim bezels encompassing the front, the phone showcases the iconic Alert Slider in its original position. The power and volume buttons are situated on the right edge, while the bottom houses a USB Type-C port, speaker, microphone, and SIM card slot. The top of the phone includes an IR blaster, a second mic, and an additional speaker.

Available in iron grey and cool blue colors, the Cool Blue variant, which I had the opportunity to explore, tends to attract fingerprints. On the other hand, the Gray variant with its matte finish is likely more resistant to fingerprints. Using a case can help preserve the pristine appearance of the phone's rear panel.

Display

The front of the OnePlus 12R boasts a spacious 6.78-inch fourth-generation AMOLED LTPO panel, referred to as ProXDR by the company. Surrounded by slim bezels, the display integrates an in-display fingerprint scanner. Offering adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, up to 1000 Hz touch response rate, Dolby Vision, HDR 10+, and 1,600 nits of brightness (4,500 nits peak), the display is safeguarded by Corning's Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Additionally, it possesses an IP64 rating, allowing usage in the rain.

Equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary rear camera, the OnePlus 12R features a familiar camera module seen in its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. The rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit, and a 2-megapixel Macro sensor. While further testing is needed to assess the camera's capabilities, the primary camera has exhibited impressive performance in daylight shots. The front camera is a 16-megapixel sensor.

RAM and ROM options of OnePlus 12R

The OnePlus 12R is available in India in two configurations - 8GB RAM + 128GB storage or 16GB RAM + 256GB storage. Both variants feature fast LPDDR5X RAM, with the 256GB version having the additional advantage of UFS 4.0 storage.

Connectivity:

Connectivity options encompass Bluetooth 5.3, dual-band Wi-Fi 7, NFC, an IR blaster, and standard GPS options.

Battery and Charging:

Featuring a substantial 5,500mAh battery, the OnePlus 12R supports 100W fast charging, with the charger included in the package. Notably, wireless charging is absent in the OnePlus 12R, reserved for the OnePlus 12.

Additional Features:

The phone comes with a case and a pre-applied screen protector. The dual speakers on the device deliver impressive audio, being both loud and capable of producing bass.

Operating System:

Running on Android 14-based OxygenOS 14.0, the software exhibits minimal bloatware, offering numerous OnePlus-exclusive customization options. However, it lacks some of the AI features present in phones like the Google Pixel 7a and the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S24.

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review & Notable Features | What's great in the PREMIUM Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G ?

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review & Features

There are some companies in India that are continuing to deliver mobile phones with amazing specifications with attractive prices in India.

Xiaomi, without any doubt, can be added to the list for their smartphones that come with fascinating specifications at an affordable price.

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is another good-launch by Xiaomi. And in this post we are going to review the all new Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G smartphone and understand from the point of view of a customer whether you should go for this one or look for something else in the market.

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review

Performance:

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU chipset. The processor used in the chipset is a 8-core processor and is accompanied by Qualcomm’s powerful Adreno GPU 730.

From the perspective of day-to-day use, the processor can deliver more than expected performance. This processor is also great for gamers and can provide satisfactory performance while running normal games and even when playing heavy games.

Though Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G comes with liquid cooling technology, we have felt a minor heating issue in smartphones if you continue to play high-end games for a longer period of time, but that’s not too unnatural for any smartphone.

Display:

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G has got a great display. The size of the display is 6.73 inch. It is a 2K display of resolution 3200 in height and 1440 pixels in width. The pixel density in the display is 522 PPI and that’s quite impressive.

It would not be very wrong to say that the display is exceptionally good for gamers. This is mostly due to its high touch sampling rate & 120 Hz refresh rate.

As mentioned in the description of Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, the display supports over 1 billion colours. The typical brightness of the display is also great. This display has other features too.

The display is strongly protected by Corning’s ‘toughest ever’ Gorilla glass, 'Victus’.

Camera:

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review has a triple camera setup. The phone has 3 cameras of 50 Megapixels each of the three.

Primary Camera (50 MP):

The primary camera produces sharp and vibrant images as the camera sensor used in this phone is Sony’s IMX 707 camera sensor. The primary camera supports OIS, for which the video captured with the camera gets a great level of stability.

Telephoto Camera (50 MP):

There is a 50 MP telephoto camera present in this phone which is meant to produce outstanding images even when the images are zoomed in.

Ultra-wide Camera (50 MP):

To click wide-angle images, there is a 50 MP ultra-wide camera that can capture images within the range of 115°.

Video recording:

The cameras are capable of capturing videos across a wide range of resolutions. The resolutions of the videos range from 720p or 1K all the way up to 4320p or 8K.

The 8K recordings will be done at 24 frames per second while the 4K recordings can be done in both 60 frames per second and 30 frames per second. The same thing applies to 1080p.

The cameras also support slow motion video recording starting from 120 frames per second to 1920 frames per second at the extreme.

The smartphone also supports HDR 10+ video recording.

The front camera is capable of recording 1080p videos @60/@30 frames per second and slow-motion videos at a maximum 120 frames per second.

Camera Review:

We have keenly observed the camera samples from Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G and here are the results -

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G undoubtedly has a great camera. The pictures clicked from the camera are quite sharp and saturated too.

But, when compared to other camera samples generated from smartphones around the same price range as this, some of the pictures look a bit more saturated and ‘A LITTLE BIT ARTIFICIAL’ in the case of Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G.

Video Recording Review:

We are satisfied with the overall video quality that Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G produces. The videos gets a great level of stability even when the hands are shaken, all thanks to OIS. But, the 4K recording @60 fps looks far better than the 8K recording @30 fps, when watched on this smartphone.

Battery & Charging:

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G has got a 4600mAH battery. To charge the battery, there is a  giant 120 watts HyperCharge charger available inside the box.

This charger is capable of charging the battery from 0 - 100% within just 18 minutes when it is being charged at ‘Boost Mode’ and takes just some additional 6 minutes when it is charged in standard mode.

The phone also supports wireless charging @ 50 watts.

The wireless charging feature can also be used to charge other devices (which is known as reverse charging) with an output of 10 watts.

Conclusion:

That’s the all-new Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G for you. We hope that every detail provided about the smartphone will help anybody, reading this article, to make decisions about their purchase of the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G as their next smartphone. Overall, the company providing these many features for a reasonable price is not bad after all.

If there are any other queries left behind about the very smartphone in the article, feel free to ask them by leaving a comment.

Just like any other article in this very article also we will give an extra honour to the performance segment of this smartphone because we do believe that performance is one of the most key aspects to buy any electronic devices like smartphones or laptops.

Realme 9 Pro Review

Let’s start this article with the performance of the mobile.

Realme 9 Pro Processor:

The all-new Realme 9 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. This processor is indeed a powerful processor. The average performance of the processor in different fields is too good for words. Its gaming experience is also very smooth.

Overall if you want to use the smartphone for your normal work, the processor is more than what you will need. For gamers also, the processor can meet the performance they want.

If one has a look at the graph of how we are acquiring new technology, one can see that we are just a step behind to adopt 5G. Leaving apart the issues of 5G, many telecom companies and mobile manufacturers have already tested 5G in different parts of the country and with all the things keep going as usual, we can expect that we will be using 5G in a few years.

The word ‘5G’ has been pasted with the processor, so that’s a really important factor that keeps the phone ahead of its competitors who are still supplying 4G processors with the new smartphones.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G is one of the greatest 5G processors of Qualcomm in every aspects like: pricing, performance etc.

Realme 9 Pro Display:

Display is probably the most important part of a smartphone after the processor. All your intraction with the mobile phone is going to be done with the display.

We should always prefer a display which has a good resolution and refresh rate.

The display Realme 9 Pro is having is a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display. The display has 2412 pixels in its width and 1080 pixels in its height. Which means that the resolution of the display is 2412x1080 pixel.

The most amazing fact about the display is the refresh rate of the display.

It’s a fact that the more refresh rate you will have the smoother will be the visual experience of the user. Be it watching a video or tireless scrolling in various social media apps like: Instagram, refresh rate plays a vital role.

The display of Realme 9 Pro has a stunning 120 Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate is excellent for playing high quality video or games and enjoying a buttery experience.

Can my computer be hacked by using Wi-Fi

Can my computer be hacked by using Wi-Fi

Introduction:

Today we are going to discuss a very popular topic of that is asked throughout the internet in many forums and question-answering sites.  The topic of this article is going to be - Can my computer be hacked by using Wi-Fi.

Now, if seen from different perspectives, there is different answers to this one question. Maybe you are thinking of a new perspective while the other person is thinking of another way.

But, don’t worry as in this single article we are going to discuss all the possible questions and answers related to the question -  can my computer be hacked by using Wi-Fi.

Can my computer be hacked by using Wi-Fi

Use of Wi-Fi

To begin with, we generally use Wi-Fi on our mobile  & computers to receive or send data using the internet. While we can even share data between our devices without using it, still internet is the best option out there and we, everyone use it.

The internet is full of viruses and malware. If not used correctly and cautiously, it can lead us to different kinds of losses like - data loss, privacy loss etc. As we use the internet on our Wi-Fi devices, so we can’t say our devices are 100% secure.

We are going to device these articles into 3 parts. In the first part, we are going to see how are our computers hacked using Wi-Fi and in the 2nd part, we are going to discuss what type of device is more likely to get attacked. In the last and final part, we will look at the best ways to remain safe from it.

How do hackers hack your computer?

Hackers can hack your computer in mainly two ways:

1.      Indirectly by installing a hacking tool like virus or malware on your computer.

2.     Directly by accessing & using your network - Wi-Fi.

How are computers hacked using a computer using viruses:

As long as you are connected to the internet there are always threats around you to steal information from you - either by not hacking your PC or by hacking your PC.

Web browsing:

Generally, normal web browsing is considered to be safe. Popular sites like Google, Youtube, and Facebook have no virus at all. So there is no problem of getting hacked as long as you are on those sites.

But, our run in the world of the internet is not only limited to those most popular sites only. In different kinds of situations and problems, we often have to visit various kinds of non-dangerous and even dangerous sites too.

So how can we remain secure and un-hacked even if we are in some low-end dangerous site?

Downloading files:

First of all, don’t click any download link on any site that appears to be spam. These download files can contain many types of viruses by which hackers can hack your computer.

Now get back to the point,

How are computers hacked using Wi-Fi:

By the word - Computer we generally refer to two types of devices -

Devices meant by ‘Computer’:

1.      Desktop PC

2.     Laptops.

Desktop:

The first part is about Desktop PC and in this part we are going to analyze can your desktop PC be hacked using Wi-Fi.

Generally assembled PCs don’t have in-built Wi-Fi. That’s why we use Wi-Fi adapters to send or receive data from the Wi-Fi routers. Because desktop PCs are non-portable, that’s why it is obvious that we won’t use them anywhere else except our home.

In 99% of the cases, we remain connected to our home network. The home network remains connected with the router and the ISP (internet service provider) like Jio, Airtel, Vi etc.

And as our desktop PC remains directly connected to it, so there should not be any 3rd party between our device and the ISP.

As long as the condition remains the same (which is - nobody expects ourselves are connected to our network), it is fine to say that we are protected.

Laptop:

But if we talk about laptops, unlike desktops, we carry our laptops to different kinds of places. For doing work on our laptops, we connect our laptops to several other networks except for our home network.

This starts to cause problems of getting checked.

Do you know that as long as we are connected to the outer network our device, laptop in this case can be assessed using the network?

If we are connected to a vulnerable network, professional hackers with good knowledge of networking may hack our devices by using their ways. This kind of hacking is generally done via generating a payload.

Key takeaway:

So it turned out to be that.

  • The internet is not too safe, so we have to be very very careful while browsing the internet. We have to make sure that we don’t click any spam links or download anything we don't trust from the internet. And that’s the first step to remaining secure.
  • As long you are connected to your home network, if the network is secure, you are almost safe.
  • But if you are connected to a public network, there is no guarantee that you are safe while using the network.

Answer to the question:

So the anser to the question is that,

Yes, your computer is unlikely to be hacked using Wi-Fi as long as you keep maintaining the security rules and not connect to any other network.

How to remain safe:

The first thing you have to ensure that you do not give the password of your Wi-Fi to someone else you don’t know.

You should change the password of your Wi-Fi from time to time to ensure that if your password gets leaked, you can change your password before anyone can access your account.

It is always advised that you should never connect to any public Wi-Fi. If there is no way either than connecting to the network, take proper care. You can even use any good VPN so that the public network can’t trace you  - what you are viewing and so on.

HP Chromebook 14 Laptop Review – Best Low End Laptop?

Chromebooks are affordable laptops and are ideal for beginners to get started with. The best fact about Chromebook is that Chromebooks run on Chrome OS which is developed and maintained by the tech-giant Google just like our Android operating system. Often some people prefer Chromebooks over Windows because of its enhanced security and protection against viruses and malware. And it is often seen that Chromebook often outperforms Windows when it is a matter of security and malware protection.

The main reason behind this may be that Windows devices catch the viruses from cracked software while Chromebook doesn’t as most of the apps and games on Chromebook are free to download and use.

Keeping those things apart let’s start our discussion on HP Chromebook 14.

ASUS VivoBook 15 - Complete Review & Specification | ASUS VivoBook 15 Review

If you belong to those future buyers who are planning to purchase a laptop for your daily work in or under the price range of ₹ 30000, we do welcome you to this article.

This article is all about AUS VivoBook 15. ASUS VivoBook 15 is a budget friendly laptop in the range of ₹ 30000, if you have low budget and wondering about some good laptops in that very price range, we have got something special for you in this article.

It’s going to be an all-round article about the laptop, containing enormous details about the specification about the laptop and an honest review about the laptop as we say it.

So let’s start this discussion about our today’s laptop - ASUS VivoBook 15.

ASUS Vivobook 15 Review

This article is going to get started with the performance lookup of the laptop because we do believe that performance should be considered as one of the main aspects to look out for before buying any electronic device such as laptops, desktops or mobiles.

Specification At A Glance:

CPU

Intel Celeron N4020

Memory (RAM)

4 GB (base), 8 GB (maximum)

SSD

256 GB

Display

HD ready with anti-glare panel

Operating System

Windows 11

Processor:

This laptop has Intel Celeron N4020 as its processor. For those who don’t know about the Celeron series processor of Intel, - Celeron is a processor series manufactured by the processor-giant Intel as an entry level processor.

Though this processor is not as powerful as Intel’s Core series processors like (Intel Core i3), still it delivers decent performance from the point of view of its price.

Let’s now look at some technical specification of the processor which is going to give us some more info about how well that processor performs.

Technical Specification (No. of cores, Clock Speed…)

The CPU has 2 core in it. The number of threads of the processor is the same with its number of cores. Which turns out to be that, there are 2 cores and 2 threads in the processor and it does not supports Intel’s Hyperthreading  technology.

This processor runs on 1.10 GHz base clock speed but can be speeded up to 2.80 GHz.

The (L3) cache size of the processor is 4 MB.

Form the technical specification it is clear that this processor is not entitled for doing very heavy works like Graphics / video editing or heavy gaming, rather this processor is mainly for doing light-weight works like office works or web surfing etc.

Still the best thing we liked about the processor is not in its performance but in its power efficient. So far data have told us that this processor is a very power efficient processor.

Memory:

ASUS VivoBook 15  has got a 4 GB preinstalled RAM. While a 4 GB RAM can handle all the basic works of an average user but as days are advancing we need more and more advanced technology. That’s why we recommend you to use at least 8 GB RAM in your laptop / PC.

But as the laptop has only one variant of it in the market so in order to use 8 GB RAM in the laptop, you have to upgrade the RAM of the laptop. The good news is that the laptop support RAM upgradation up to 8 GB. So, if you wish, you can easily upgrade the primary memory of your device easily with a memory upgrade.

Another factor to understand in the case of RAM is that, this laptop comes up with preinstalled Windows 11. Windows 11 is no doubt more advanced than Windows 10 and hence it requires more RAM than Windows 10 to run smoothly. That’s another reason why a RAM upgrade should be done in this device.

Taking about the secondary storage of the ASUS VivoBook 2021, the laptop has got an inbuilt SSD. The size of the SSD is 256 GB. This is an NVMe PCIe SSD which makes it different from other normal SSDs in terms of speed and reliability. NVMe PCIe is faster than normal SSD and the data kept in the SSD are somewhere more encrypted than normal Solid-State Drives.

For day to day work, a 256 GB SSD is decent. But if you want to store various movies, videos or large files in your laptop, you can also upgrade the SSD size of the laptop to a maximum of 512 GB .

Display:

The laptop has got a 15.6 inch display. The resolution of the display is 1366 x 768 pixel by width and height respectively, that means that the display is not full HD.

The maximum brightness of the display is 220 nits. As we have experienced, this 220nits display is a bit dull from other common display and you may have issue while using the display under direct sunlight. Still the display is fine to work in indoor lighting conditions. There and some narrow bezel outside the display. Overall the display is a bit of all right considering the price range.

Connectivity:

This laptop comes up with various types of connectivity options. The key hightlights of the connectivity options available in the laptop are 1 – 1.4 HDMI port, a 3.5 mm jack for both headphone and mic use.

The USB ports available in ASUS VivoBook 15 (2021) are as follow –

1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A & Type C each port & 2 USB 2.0 ports.

The device comes with inbuilt Wi-Fi support. The Wi-Fi version is Wi-Fi 5 and t support dual band.

Special Features:

We can't but mention some of the most exciting features that have really impressed us.

Webcam

There is a VGA webcam right above the display on this device. It’s a VGA webcam and that means that video quality of the webcam will not be so impressive, still for normal video chats and conferencing that camera is ideal.

Mic & Speakers:

Built is microphone & built is speakers are available in the ASUS VivoBook (2021). The sound output of the speaker is decent.

Operating System:

The best things that impressed us about the laptop is the operating system. ASUS VivoBook packs brand new genuine Windows 11 preinstalled with it. While the operating system itself costs about Rs. 10,000, it’s really great when you can grab it in a laptop ranging Rs. 25000 – 30000.
