Processor:

This laptop has Intel Celeron N4020 as its processor. For those who don’t know about the Celeron series processor of Intel, - Celeron is a processor series manufactured by the processor-giant Intel as an entry level processor.

Though this processor is not as powerful as Intel’s Core series processors like (Intel Core i3), still it delivers decent performance from the point of view of its price.

Let’s now look at some technical specification of the processor which is going to give us some more info about how well that processor performs.

Technical Specification (No. of cores, Clock Speed…)

The CPU has 2 core in it. The number of threads of the processor is the same with its number of cores. Which turns out to be that, there are 2 cores and 2 threads in the processor and it does not supports Intel’s Hyperthreading  technology.

This processor runs on 1.10 GHz base clock speed but can be speeded up to 2.80 GHz.

The (L3) cache size of the processor is 4 MB.

Form the technical specification it is clear that this processor is not entitled for doing very heavy works like Graphics / video editing or heavy gaming, rather this processor is mainly for doing light-weight works like office works or web surfing etc.

Still the best thing we liked about the processor is not in its performance but in its power efficient. So far data have told us that this processor is a very power efficient processor.

Memory:

ASUS VivoBook 15  has got a 4 GB preinstalled RAM. While a 4 GB RAM can handle all the basic works of an average user but as days are advancing we need more and more advanced technology. That’s why we recommend you to use at least 8 GB RAM in your laptop / PC.

But as the laptop has only one variant of it in the market so in order to use 8 GB RAM in the laptop, you have to upgrade the RAM of the laptop. The good news is that the laptop support RAM upgradation up to 8 GB. So, if you wish, you can easily upgrade the primary memory of your device easily with a memory upgrade.

Another factor to understand in the case of RAM is that, this laptop comes up with preinstalled Windows 11. Windows 11 is no doubt more advanced than Windows 10 and hence it requires more RAM than Windows 10 to run smoothly. That’s another reason why a RAM upgrade should be done in this device.

Taking about the secondary storage of the ASUS VivoBook 2021, the laptop has got an inbuilt SSD. The size of the SSD is 256 GB. This is an NVMe PCIe SSD which makes it different from other normal SSDs in terms of speed and reliability. NVMe PCIe is faster than normal SSD and the data kept in the SSD are somewhere more encrypted than normal Solid-State Drives.

For day to day work, a 256 GB SSD is decent. But if you want to store various movies, videos or large files in your laptop, you can also upgrade the SSD size of the laptop to a maximum of 512 GB .

Display:

The laptop has got a 15.6 inch display. The resolution of the display is 1366 x 768 pixel by width and height respectively, that means that the display is not full HD.

The maximum brightness of the display is 220 nits. As we have experienced, this 220nits display is a bit dull from other common display and you may have issue while using the display under direct sunlight. Still the display is fine to work in indoor lighting conditions. There and some narrow bezel outside the display. Overall the display is a bit of all right considering the price range.

Connectivity:

This laptop comes up with various types of connectivity options. The key hightlights of the connectivity options available in the laptop are 1 – 1.4 HDMI port, a 3.5 mm jack for both headphone and mic use.

The USB ports available in ASUS VivoBook 15 (2021) are as follow –

1 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A & Type C each port & 2 USB 2.0 ports.

The device comes with inbuilt Wi-Fi support. The Wi-Fi version is Wi-Fi 5 and t support dual band.

Special Features:

We can't but mention some of the most exciting features that have really impressed us.

Webcam

There is a VGA webcam right above the display on this device. It’s a VGA webcam and that means that video quality of the webcam will not be so impressive, still for normal video chats and conferencing that camera is ideal.

Mic & Speakers:

Built is microphone & built is speakers are available in the ASUS VivoBook (2021). The sound output of the speaker is decent.

Operating System:

The best things that impressed us about the laptop is the operating system. ASUS VivoBook packs brand new genuine Windows 11 preinstalled with it. While the operating system itself costs about Rs. 10,000, it’s really great when you can grab it in a laptop ranging Rs. 25000 – 30000.
