Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review & Features

There are some companies in India that are continuing to deliver mobile phones with amazing specifications with attractive prices in India.

Xiaomi, without any doubt, can be added to the list for their smartphones that come with fascinating specifications at an affordable price.

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is another good-launch by Xiaomi. And in this post we are going to review the all new Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G smartphone and understand from the point of view of a customer whether you should go for this one or look for something else in the market.

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review

Performance:

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU chipset. The processor used in the chipset is a 8-core processor and is accompanied by Qualcomm’s powerful Adreno GPU 730.

From the perspective of day-to-day use, the processor can deliver more than expected performance. This processor is also great for gamers and can provide satisfactory performance while running normal games and even when playing heavy games.

Though Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G comes with liquid cooling technology, we have felt a minor heating issue in smartphones if you continue to play high-end games for a longer period of time, but that’s not too unnatural for any smartphone.

Display:

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G has got a great display. The size of the display is 6.73 inch. It is a 2K display of resolution 3200 in height and 1440 pixels in width. The pixel density in the display is 522 PPI and that’s quite impressive.

It would not be very wrong to say that the display is exceptionally good for gamers. This is mostly due to its high touch sampling rate & 120 Hz refresh rate.

As mentioned in the description of Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, the display supports over 1 billion colours. The typical brightness of the display is also great. This display has other features too.

The display is strongly protected by Corning’s ‘toughest ever’ Gorilla glass, 'Victus’.

Camera:

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review has a triple camera setup. The phone has 3 cameras of 50 Megapixels each of the three.

Primary Camera (50 MP):

The primary camera produces sharp and vibrant images as the camera sensor used in this phone is Sony’s IMX 707 camera sensor. The primary camera supports OIS, for which the video captured with the camera gets a great level of stability.

Telephoto Camera (50 MP):

There is a 50 MP telephoto camera present in this phone which is meant to produce outstanding images even when the images are zoomed in.

Ultra-wide Camera (50 MP):

To click wide-angle images, there is a 50 MP ultra-wide camera that can capture images within the range of 115°.

Video recording:

The cameras are capable of capturing videos across a wide range of resolutions. The resolutions of the videos range from 720p or 1K all the way up to 4320p or 8K.

The 8K recordings will be done at 24 frames per second while the 4K recordings can be done in both 60 frames per second and 30 frames per second. The same thing applies to 1080p.

The cameras also support slow motion video recording starting from 120 frames per second to 1920 frames per second at the extreme.

The smartphone also supports HDR 10+ video recording.

The front camera is capable of recording 1080p videos @60/@30 frames per second and slow-motion videos at a maximum 120 frames per second.

Camera Review:

We have keenly observed the camera samples from Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G and here are the results -

The Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G undoubtedly has a great camera. The pictures clicked from the camera are quite sharp and saturated too.

But, when compared to other camera samples generated from smartphones around the same price range as this, some of the pictures look a bit more saturated and ‘A LITTLE BIT ARTIFICIAL’ in the case of Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G.

Video Recording Review:

We are satisfied with the overall video quality that Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G produces. The videos gets a great level of stability even when the hands are shaken, all thanks to OIS. But, the 4K recording @60 fps looks far better than the 8K recording @30 fps, when watched on this smartphone.

Battery & Charging:

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G has got a 4600mAH battery. To charge the battery, there is a  giant 120 watts HyperCharge charger available inside the box.

This charger is capable of charging the battery from 0 - 100% within just 18 minutes when it is being charged at ‘Boost Mode’ and takes just some additional 6 minutes when it is charged in standard mode.

The phone also supports wireless charging @ 50 watts.

The wireless charging feature can also be used to charge other devices (which is known as reverse charging) with an output of 10 watts.
